With Some jQuery Magic

I’ve been working on a project for my day job for quite some time. It’s an event coming up, and I’m building a lot of the stuff you’ll be using if you participate.

Part of the day is some live America’s-Funniest-Home-Videos-style voting, with results being shown instantly on a display while the countdown ticks by.

The first twenty seconds of the countdown shows you the wobble effect of the results updating. The largest currently “winning” result is made larger and in bold. Up in the corner, once we hit five seconds, the timer starts pulsing until we hit zero where you could imagine a buzzer sounding.

This was all done in a couple of hours with some custom jQuery.
