Nick is in town, and he told me a story that I’m not currently allowed to repeat here. The end result was that we need to go down to the Zildjian headquarters to see something. I know, sounds mysterious, it wasn’t.

Anyhow, the headquarters for Zildjian is in Norwell, MA. That’s a little less than an hour and a half south of me. Nick had already talked to someone there about coming in, and after explaining that it’s their corporate office, they agreed to let us come in for a bit.

The place is awesome.

I’m not a drummer, but I understand tradition and quality — two of the elements that are a part of all Zildjian cymbals. The sets that were assembled around the office and the history that you can see around every corner is amazing.

We got to go inside a couple of rooms, one of those being the orchestral room. In here, they house a whole bunch of crash cymbals that will someday be used by people in marching bands, orchestras and the like.

On the way out, our contact Lisa was awesome enough to give us each a goodie bag with a couple of awesome brochures, some stickers and a free t-shirt. (Woo!)

If you’re in the area and can find an excuse to do so, visit Zildjian. They’re fantastic people with a fantastic office. You’ll enjoy it even if you’re not a drummer.
